Marvel is getting weirder… And I love it!

If you have been keeping up with the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), you know that their latest entries have been Disney+ series. As I write this, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is three episodes in, and while I am enjoying the story, the action, and the overall feel of the show, I don’t quite have the same level of excitement leading up to each Friday’s release as I did while watching the MCU’s first Disney+ series, Wandavision.

Why is that?

First off, Wandavision was super freaking weird. On paper, a show about two Avengers living in a warped sitcom reality is so ridiculous that I’m surprised it even got greenlit. Though, perhaps I shouldn’t be. In 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the MCU debuted a talking raccoon and sentient tree and totally knocked it out of the park. They aren’t afraid of taking risks. That’s the point. It’s hard for me not to love a studio that consistently brings me fresh, new storytelling that I didn’t even know I wanted.

Combine this amazing weirdness with the ongoing mystery surrounding what the heck was happening to everyone in Westview and a masterful twist/reveal at the end of more episodes than not, and I was hooked.

Now, with the release of the newest Loki trailer, that electric feeling is getting more intense.

Between the amazing, action-packed thrill ride that has been The Falcon and the Winter Soldier so far, and knowing that I’ll soon watch the god of mischief quantum leaping through various time periods, I find myself more excited for the future of the MCU than I’ve been in a long time.
